Enjoying too long in the shower? The province of Drenthe will be handing out free shower timers from March 25 to May 11 and hopes that people will be under the jet for less time. The action starts next Friday in Beilen.

According to a spokesperson for the province, shower timers are good reminders for those who enjoy the hot water “too long”. ‘On average, a family with a shower timer can save more than 15,000 liters of water and 60m3 of gas on an annual basis. This equates to approximately 90 euros in savings per year.’

Part of campaign

The promotion is part of the campaign ‘Drenthe on the way to energy neutral, Just Zo!’. A campaign that encourages Drenthe to consume less energy. The team that hands out the shower timers also engages in conversation with passers-by.

Score a shower timer? can be found here when they are shared out where.
