English footballers win first place in the subgroup

The England national football team won the Czech Republic 1: 0 (1: 0) in the last match of the sub-group stages of the European Championship final tournament in London on Tuesday, taking the first place in the group.

Rahim Sterling scored the goal for the England national team.

In sub-group D, England took first place with seven points, Croatia and the Czech Republic with four points each, and Scotland closed the tournament with one point. The Czech Republic and England had already secured at least a third position and a place in the quarterfinals, but Croatia joined the team on Tuesday.

In the second minute, Stirling moved the ball over the opponent’s goalkeeper, but he hit the post without reaching his desired goal. However, in the 11th minute, after Jack Grilis’ center, Stirling sent the ball in the net – 1: 0 in favor of the England team.

In the 26th minute of the game, Herija Keyn’s close shot was repulsed by Tomāšs Vaclīks, but a few minutes later, after a long shot by Tomārs Holes, Jordan Picford demonstrated his mastery.

In the second half, the game went smoothly and neither team managed to seriously endanger the safety of the goal. Jordan Henderson came in to finish the match. 86 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a foul.

In the first games of the group, England defeated Croatia 1: 0, but the Czech Republic was 2: 0 superior to Scotland. In the second games, two draws – 1: 1 between the Czech Republic and Croatia and 0: 0 between England and Scotland.

The final tournament of the 2021 European Championship will take place in 11 European cities until July 11. The continent’s strongest team will be determined at Wembley Stadium in London. The revamped Wembley Stadium will host the national team title match for the first time in history, but its predecessor once played in the 1966 World Cup final and the 1996 European Championship final.

Five years ago, Portugal was crowned European Champion, beating France in the final match in Paris with a score of 1: 0.

In the final tournament of the European Championship, 24 teams are divided into six subgroups of four each. The two best teams will automatically qualify for the first round or the eighth final of the elimination tournament, as well as the four best third place winners.

A total of 51 games will be played in this European Championship. When there were 16 more teams in the tournament, 31 matches had to be played.
