Energy group Engie can start building a new battery park on the site of the gas-fired power station in Vilvoorde. The deputation of the province of Flemish Brabant has issued a permit for this. The new battery farm is not compatible with the gas-fired power station that Engie previously wanted to build on this site. That file seems to be completely gone now. Vilvoord’s mayor Hans Bonte (Vooruit) and the action group Leefbare Noordrand are pleased with the news. “The switch also seems to have turned at Engie.”
