Energizer Accu Recharge Extreme AAA / HR03 NiMh 800 mAh test: our opinion, our laboratory measurements

After 1 h 47 min of charging at 500 mA, the Accu Recharge Extreme reaches its full capacity. Our charge then indicates an average capacity of 806 mAh. A measurement always higher than the announced capacity of the accumulator due to the losses (heat, mainly) related to the electrochemical process of the charge.

Once placed in our discharge circuit, it only takes 56 minutes to see them go below the 1 V bar. The actual measured capacity then reaches 744 mAh at this stage, for a supplied energy of 816 mWh. 6 minutes of discharge later, we go below the 0.8 V threshold, below which the voltage drops much more quickly, synonymous with end of operation for most electronic devices (or very poor lighting, in the lamp). We then calculate a capacity of 811 mAh, in accordance with that announced by the manufacturer, for a supplied energy of 875 mWh.

With such performance, 4 batteries can operate a headlamp or a motor toy consuming 300 mA for 2 h 42 min, while a 0.2 W LED night light can stay on for more than 18 h with 3 batteries .
