Eneco takes new CEO from Shell | NOW

The new CEO of Eneco comes over from Shell. As Tempelman has been appointed by the supervisory board, Eneco reports Tuesday. He will start with the energy supplier on 1 July.

Tempelman has been responsible for Shell’s integrated gas activities in the Middle East and Asia since 2016. He succeeds Ruud Sondag, who is leaving now that Eneco has been taken over by the Japanese companies Mitsubishi Corporation and Chubu Electric Power.

The new owners said they wanted to bet on a sustainable course. According to Mel Kroon, chairman of the supervisory board at Eneco, Tempelman is the right person for this.

“He has made his mark as an entrepreneurial leader with a vision who focuses on executing the strategy and improving the bottom line,” said Kroon. “He is also strong in communication and has an eye for talent management.”

According to Tempelman himself, Eneco is excellently positioned with the new owners to offer sustainable solutions. “In the 25 years that I have been working in the energy sector, I have developed a true passion for sustainability and I am very much looking forward to being part of the course the company is following in the transition,” said the upcoming CEO .
