For Dominik Paris, the World Cup season ended prematurely. The 30-year-old Italian contracted a cruciate ligament rupture in his right knee during training in Kitzbühel.

Paris had presented itself in dazzling form in the past few weeks. In Bormio he won both runs at the end of December and in Wengen he was beaten only by Beat Feuz last weekend. Also in the Downhill World Cup, Paris is 16 points behind Feuz’s first pursuer.

In Kitzbühel, where the next World Cup races will take place at the weekend, Paris won the downhill in 2013, 2017 and 2019 and the Super-G in 2015.
