end of public night lighting in the economic activity zones of Nîmes

To save money, there will be no public lighting between 10pm and 6am in the 21 economic activity zones of the agglomeration of Nîmes. This measure is being implemented gradually.

No more streets lit up all night in some districts of Nîmes. As part of its energy sobriety plan, the metropolis of Nîmes has taken a new step: the lighting in the zones of economic activity (ZAE) will be gradually switched off between 10pm and 6am.

This lighting had already been reduced by 50% between 11pm and 5am. A timetable for the gradual application of the measure in the 21 ZAE of the agglomeration of Nîmes has been prepared.

The ZAE Caissargues (Euro 2000) and Bouillargues (Actiparc, Les Bosquets and Parc Delta) apply this measure from Friday 25 November.

From this Friday, December 2, it is up to the following ZAEs to apply this measure:

  • Active Villas
  • KM Delta
  • Saint-Cesaire
  • George Besse 1
  • Archipelago
  • Market station
  • Mas des Abeilles
  • Mas des Noyers
  • Mas des Rosiers
  • Mas de Vignole

And starting December 19, the following ZAE will join them:

  • Grezan and Georges Besse 2
  • Small orchard in La Calmette
  • Fumerian in Manduel
  • La Ponche and Tec in Marguerittes
  • Trajectory to Milhaud
  • Miter in Saint-Gilles et Garons

This progressive generalization of the extinction of public lighting in these ZAE aims to reduce the use of electricity to free it for other uses, in a context where shortcomings are always to be feared.
