Employees of the Dutch meat factory had to continue working while …

Employees of slaughterhouse Van Rooi Meat from Helmond in the Netherlands, not far from Eindhoven and the Belgian border, claim that they have had to continue working for the past two months while they had corona complaints. Various Dutch media report this.

A number of employees anonymously say they were instructed to lie. After all, they had to tick “yes” or “no” when asked if they feel sick. A supervisor would have ordered to fill in “no”. Others did so on their own initiative for fear of losing their job. Also, workers should only wear face masks when safety inspectors have checked.

Director Marc van Rooi denies that the staff had to lie. “To my knowledge this did not happen. And when we hear it, we take action. We only have one interest and that is to keep the factory corona-free. ”
