The unemployed in the sights of the Elysée. Emmanuel Macron said and repeated that he wanted to reach full employment (5% maximum unemployment) by the end of the five-year term. To achieve this objective, the Head of State intends to continue the reforms. “We are going to open a phase 2 of the acceleration of the attractiveness of innovation in France”, he indicated on Wednesday, at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The president spoke of the consolidation “of our major programs: France 2030 and our attractiveness programs with Business France”. But above all he announced that he would reform new unemployment insurance.
Tighten unemployment insurance rules
“We will then begin a second phase on the reform of our labor market by tightening the rules of unemployment insurance, by also having much more simplicity in hiring and organization, and by promoting everything that we can transfer to the company level in the negotiations,” assured Emmanuel Macron the day after his major press conference.
