The exemplary Republic that Macron wanted to impersonate was just a figure of speech, where one word turns into another!
Loud and clear, the 2017 presidential candidate pledged for an exemplary republic.
He asked, promised, assured and certified:«An indicted minister must resign – A criminal conviction will prevent him from appearing – The Court of Justice of the Republic will be abolished, etc.
According to Macron: “The main danger to democracy is the persistence of violations of fairness among politicians.”
However, none of this was done! Since his election, the media have covered issues concerning the president’s entourage.
A Senate inquiry commission (March 2022) focused on the growing, even exorbitant, influence of consulting firms on public policies. According to this report, public spending more than doubled between 2018 and 2021, exceeding one billion euros! According to Le Monde, around 1,600 services have been purchased by the public sphere. Following this report, the Reconquête MPs seized the French National Public Prosecutor’s Office (PNF), in application of article 40 of the criminal procedure code. For them there are serious criminal acts, misappropriation of public funds for tax evasion, in what is defined as the «McKingsey scandal».
In addition, a McKinsey consultant had become general manager of LREM and also a congressman for the Renaissance. Other employees, from the American cabinet, worked in ministerial cabinets. When cornered, Bruno Le Maire acknowledged abuses and a drift in the use of consulting firms.
In the sale of SFR, Macron, who held the post of minister, did not oppose the transaction. Sure, a justice minister will be tried for illegal taking of interests within the scope of his duties. And the secretary general of the Elysée is suspected of the same charges. Not enough to disturb Macron who says he is out of the question. And, above all, protected from prosecution, as long as he is president.
