DOHA, December 8 / WAM / Zlatko Dalic, the head coach of the Croatia national soccer team has confirmed that he hoped to meet the Brazil national team at a later stage of the 2022 World Cup, but that doesn’t stop his team from doing all they can in this comparison.
The Croatian and Brazilian teams meet tomorrow, Friday, in the quarterfinals of the 2022 World Cup, noting that the two teams are among the strong candidates to compete for the title in the current tournament, as the Croatian team won the title of runners-up in the last edition in 2018 in Russia, while the Brazilian team, ranked first in the world, holds the record for the number of times they won the world title (5 times).
Dalic said in his team’s press conference today before tomorrow’s match that anyone dreams of facing the Brazil national team, as this match represents a world summit in soccer, but he hoped it would be at a later stage of the current World Cup.
Dalic has indicated that his team will fight with all their strength in this match and that they have nothing to lose as they have no choice but to face the opponent with full strength to reach the semifinals in the current World Cup.
He clarified that he would not make any squad changes in this match, because the team played a very strong game in the round of 16 against a stubborn opponent, the Japan national team, and deserved to reach the quarter-finals.
