Some of the affected companies were in danger of falling by the wayside. That is why the Ministry has decided to widen the measure.
‘Clear signal’
Retailers and entrepreneurs in the non-food sector are now also covered by the scheme. They can report to the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) from Monday.
Political reporter Roel Schreinemachers says it is very exceptional that the cabinet on Saturday evening broadens an arrangement announced Friday afternoon. “The signal may be clear: they want to prevent the idea that the cabinet will leave affected entrepreneurs out in the cold,” says Schreinemachers.
