For better or for worse, the slap that Will Smith tipped Chris Rock during the 94th ceremony of Oscar awards forever marked the career of the actor of “King Richard” and it is in the next awards season that we could see it more clearly.
After the release of the first trailer of the new film starring Smith ‘Emancipation‘, the topic was recalled confirming it the Academy is not very convinced to include the actor in the 2023 edition of the Oscarsthis regardless of whether his performance is commendable or not.
This film tells the story of a man who runs away from his “masters”, plantation owners in Louisiana, facing countless obstacles during his escape.
For his part, the actor limited himself to commenting that this project was the most difficult of his entire career and although the critics speak well of it, no doubt it would not be a surprise if it went unnoticed by the Academy, at least in relation to the performance of the actor of ‘Io, Robot’.
The film will premiere on Apple TV on December 9.
