From June 14 to July 14, 2024, Europe will be visiting Germany – the EM 2024 then again concentrated in one country.

The rough cornerstones for the tournament are already in place. So far, however, one question has remained unanswered: Where will the final of the EM 2024? Now UEFA has made its decision official.

EM 2024: HERE the final will take place

Hamburg, Frankfurt, Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Gelsenkirchen, Munich, Düsseldorf, Leipzig and Stuttgart – the European Championship will be held in a total of ten cities over the course of two years.

Most recently, two applicants were still arguing about hosting the finals in mid-July: Berlin and Munich. The European association has now made the decision. The capital is awarded the contract.

EM 2024: Munich does not go away empty-handed

UEFA announced the decision on Tuesday (May 10). The Executive Committee decided on this at its meeting in Vienna. In the course of this, the entire game plan was approved.

However, the Allianz Arena in Munich will not go away empty-handed. While you didn’t get the final, at least the opening game will take place there. Against whom Germany will compete as hosts will only be decided after the qualification in the coming months.

EM 2024: UEFA focuses on sustainability

In addition, UEFA announced that sustainability was a major issue when creating the fixture list. Therefore, three “venue clusters” were formed: “North/Northeast” (Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig), “West” (Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Cologne) and “South” (Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart).

+++ Sky throws two channels out of the program – that’s behind it +++

Games in a group take place in a maximum of two of these clusters. This should limit the kilometers traveled by teams and fans. (mh)
