On Thursday, June 25, The Guardian informs us that Elton John’s ex-wife, Renate Blauel, had filed a request for an injunction in British justice, accusing the companion of David Furnish of having broken their confidentiality agreement in his autobiography Me, published in 2019. He evoked in particular the one he “loved unconditionally” and whose heart he “broke”: “For years after the divorce, as soon as something happened to me, the press arrived at her door, waiting for her to give them information. She never did it; she always asked them to leave her alone, ”he wrote. Renate Blauel, sound engineer, would therefore not have appreciated being cited in the memories of his ex. A former friend of the singer testifies in the columns of the Mirror of Saturday June 27: “It is good that someone reprimands him. No one has ever had the courage to do it. ”

Definitely, the year 2020 is particularly trying for Elton John. On Sunday February 16, the brilliant Rocket Man performer was forced to suddenly stop one of his performances in New Zealand. The cause: more severe than expected pneumonia. Fortunately, more fear than harm for the singer, who was able to resume his tour at short notice. A few weeks later, the Covid-19 pandemic would come to an end. He had to cancel more than 45 concert dates around the world. A shortfall estimated at 67 million euros. Consequence: Elton John was forced to separate from certain members of his group. However, the artist can count on a war chest estimated at 405 million euros. A sacred fortune which should allow it to replace a few more seasons.
