Tesla CEO Elon Musk has also filed a complaint against Twitter himself, after he was sued by the social media platform because he ultimately decided not to buy Twitter. That writes the Wall Street Journal.
–
The complaint was filed confidentially with the Delaware District Court and is not yet available to the public.
On Friday, the judge who is considering the legal battle between Twitter and Musk announced that the trial will start on October 17.
–
Musk had announced in April that he wanted to buy Twitter for $44 billion, but eventually canceled that plan because the social media company lied about the number of spam and fake accounts on the social network.
–
Twitter then filed a complaint with a Delaware court. The company wants to force the billionaire into the acquisition through the courts for the agreed $ 54.20 per share.
–
Although the deal includes a $1 billion cancellation fee, Twitter is demanding that Musk honor his obligations under the agreement. According to the platform, Musk disrupted the operation of the company and destroyed shareholder value by blowing up the deal.
