This week, as noted CNBC, the head of Tesla, Elon Musk, admitted that he had just driven a pre-production copy of the Cybertruck electric pickup truck. He declined to give a start date for deliveries, instead stating that the machine’s assembly process required the highest precision, demanding adequate mailing accuracy from employees and comparing the challenge to building Lego bricks.

The CNBC resource received at its disposal a copy of the letter from Elon Musk, which he sent to all Tesla employees. In it, the billionaire explains that all Cybertruck parts, both the company’s own production and third-party ones, are developed with minimal dimensional tolerances, with an accuracy of 10 microns. Any deviation of the product from the given dimensions, according to Musk, risks becoming an “eyesore”, so such defects must be avoided.
The head of Tesla compared the requirements for dimensional accuracy of Cybertruck parts with the conditions for the production of Lego constructors and cans for carbonated drinks. Of course, such products are much cheaper to manufacture, but the requirements for the accuracy of their dimensions do not become less because of this. As Elon Musk is convinced, if the manufacturers of such products were able to succeed, then Tesla will succeed with the release of Cybertruck. “Accuracy breeds perfectionism” – completed his appeal to the employees of the head of Tesla.
In communication with subscribers on the pages of his own social network X, he said that he would name the date of the event dedicated to the start of deliveries of Cybertruck commodity pickups when the company was ready. Earlier, he promised to begin deliveries of serial cars to owners before the end of the third quarter. It is noteworthy that among the users of the Tesla branded mobile application, the company is already distributing invitations to a future event, without specifying the date of its holding. For the right to attend the event accompanied by one companion, you need to spend bonus points in the amount equivalent to $2500. At the same time, travel expenses to Austin, Texas, where the event will take place, as well as accommodation, are not compensated.
