In the podcast “Daily Drive” by Automotive News, Tesla founder Elon Musk criticized American self-righteousness, while praising China for having many hard-working people.
In particular, Musk criticized New York and California – states that have significantly supported Tesla with significant tax cuts.
Host Jason Stein asked the following question in the podcast: “What about China as the leader in electric vehicles in the world”?
– China rocks in my opinion. There are many smart hard-working people there, and they are more down to earth than in the United States, replied Musk.
Last year, the Chinese authorities helped Tesla secure loans totaling NOK 1.6 billion to build a factory in Shanghai. After shutting down the factory during the worst coronavirus outbreak, the authorities were able to get normal operations back on track quickly afterwards.
“The Chinese authorities have been supportive, but we received less support than local companies, which is understandable,” says Musk.
