The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, on Sunday asked his almost 38 million followers on Twitter to knock him down on Wikipedia.
“History is written by the winners, except on Wikipedia, haha”, wrote the businessman. “Please tear me down on Wikipedia, I beg you,” Musk asked his followers in a tweet.

Netizens were quick to accept the offer and used all their creativity to modify the page that refers to Musk in the online encyclopedia as they wanted. They also did not hesitate to show the result to the applicant himself.

Netizens were having a blast, but Wikipedia quickly blocked Musk’s page, deleting all edits and limiting the ability to make changes to only editors approved by the site. Unauthorized people who despite everything still tried to edit the page, came across the notice that it was “protected to prevent vandalism“.
