Elon Muska announces human tests next year
Originally Elon Musk hoped the Neuralink would be used on a human by the end of 2020. However, this deadline was not met, but the billionaire announced that he was counting on approval of human tests by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2022 – he said Musk in an interview with Joanna Stern of the Wall Street Journal at the CEO Council Summit.

As Musk reported, technology this can help people with spinal cord injuries, especially those who have difficulty communicating with the world. Initially, Neuralink will allow them to move the mouse cursor, and over time the algorithms will develop new communication skills. With the help of the chip, it will be possible to control a virtual keyboard, pad and other devices. In 2020, Musk announced that with Neuralink you will even be able to send music straight to your brain.
Neuralink has been used successfully in monkeys and pigs
Despite the delays in implementing the technology, Neuralink has twice demonstrated the successful application of the technology in the last two years. First, the chip was able to register the pig’s brain waves. This year’s presentation with Makak was much more interesting. Thanks to Neuralink, the animal could use only his thoughts to play one of the first video games in history – Pong.
