Electricity prices up from January 1
Already in September, the President of the Energy Regulatory Office announcedthat electricity price increases will be higher than if you take into account the same inflation. Rafał Gawin already said then that you have to expect two-digit numbers raises. He repeated it in an interview with money.pl two months later.
We are at the stage of processing these applications and administrative proceedings. These are secret, so it’s hard for me to divulge the details. However, I have said many times that one should expect double-digit hikes. Next year they will not only reflect the level of inflation. Different numbers can be represented and in different contexts. I think it will be at least a dozen or so percent more

Anti-inflationary shield well received by the ERO
Rafał Gawin was also asked about solutions from the anti-inflation shield presented on Thursday. He assessed the solutions from it as favorable.
From the point of view of the regulator, the solutions are good, in the right direction, because they do not directly interfere with the market, but provide a real effect for household consumers.

The shield includes a reduction VAT for electricity up to 5 percent and gas up to 8 percent. The solution is to be valid for three months. Temporarily, the government will not collect excise duties too electricity from households, and other recipients will pay the minimum allowed by the EU. Moreover, subsidies for the poorest households were also presented.
