Electricity Discount for Customers 220 VA to 1,300 VA and Above Officially Extended

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati has officially extended the electricity bill discount until June 2021. It should be noted that this assistance is given to industrial, business and social electricity customers as part of the 2021 National Economic Recovery (PEN) program.

This policy is stated in the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 40 / PMK.02 / 2021 concerning Amendments to the Regulation of the Minister of Finance Number 136 / PMK.02 / 2020 concerning Procedures for the Provision, Payment and Accountability of Assistance to the Payment of Electricity Bills for the Company (Persero) PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara for Industrial, Business and Social Customers in the framework of Implementing the National Economic Recovery Program. This regulation is valid as of April 8, 2021.

Previously, electricity subsidies were given until the end of 2020. With the issuance of PMK 40/2021, assistance was provided for a period of six months starting from January to June 2021 electricity bills. subscription.

As for the assistance provided by the government, namely a subsidy of 100 percent in the period January to March 2021. Then, the electricity subsidy is reduced by 50 percent for electricity consumption in April to June 2021.

In terms of criteria, PMK 40/2021 refers to the previous regulation. Article 2 PMK 136/2020 regulates that assistance is provided to electricity customers for industrial, business and social groups with two criteria.

First, assistance to pay the underpayment difference between real usage and the minimum account is provided to industrial, business and social electricity customers with a power of 1,300 VA and above.

Second, exemption from expense or subscription fees for industrial and business class customers with 900 VA power, and social groups with electric power 220 VA, 450 VA, and 900 VA.

Although policy This only took effect at the beginning of this month, but the electricity bills for January-March can still be obtained by beneficiaries.
