JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The government plans to issue incentives for electric vehicles to accelerate electrification. Regulations regarding this matter have reportedly been discussed and will be announced in the near future.
The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said that his party would announce electric vehicle incentives on Monday (6/3/2023) tomorrow.
“We are waiting, and hopefully next week the incentives will come out. Not subsidies, but incentives given to motorbikes and (electric) cars,” Luhut said, quoted from Money Kompas.com (4/2/2023).

China’s electric motor manufacturer, Yadea officially launched at the 2023 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) at JIExpo, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Sunday (19/2/2023). Yadea claims to have sold hundreds of motorcycles and electric bicycles at the IIMS 2023.
Even so, Luhut has not confirmed the form and mechanism. According to him, this will be announced on Monday
“The difference is between subsidies and incentives for cars and motorbikes, but we will announce it later (Monday), just wait. We’ll see on Monday,” said Luhut.
Previously, Budi Setiyadi, Main Expert Staff to the Minister of Transportation for Land Transportation and Connectivity, said that one of the conditions for granting electric motorbike subsidies was the minimum content of the Domestic Component Level (TKDN).

“In terms of subsidies, what I have heard is that TKDN is a requirement, at least 40 percent, as mandated by the President,” said Budi at the IIMS 2023 exhibition, recently.
Budi, who is also the Chairperson of Aismoli, encouraged APM to increase TKDN, so they could get subsidies from the government in order to purchase electric vehicles.
“I urge APM for electric motorcycles to increase their TKDN, as ordered by the president, so that any issues related to subsidies are ready,” said Budi.
