Electability of Ganjar Salip Anies and Prabowo

The institution survey Political indicators record the level of electability or electability of the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo beyond the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan and the Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto. The three of them occupy the top place in the survey related to the 2024 Election.

Executive Director of Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi said Ganjar even became the top of the 15 names of potential presidential candidates in 2024.

“One is Ganjar, then Mas Anies, then Pak Prabowo. Those three names are statistically insignificant. So even though Ganjar is ranked first, it is not significantly different from Anies and Prabowo,” Burhan said in a virtual survey released on Tuesday (7/21).


The indicator noted Ganjar’s electability in July 2020 reaching 16.2 percent, up from 11.8 percent in May 2020. Meanwhile, Anies’s electability was at 15.0 percent, up from 10.4 percent in May. As for Prabowo, it has an electability of 13.5 percent, down from 14.1 percent in May.

In addition to the three figures, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Gerindra Party, Sandiaga Uno (9.2 percent), West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil (8.6 percent), and Democratic Party Chairperson Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono alias AHY (6.8 percent).

There was also East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa (3.6 percent), Indonesian House Speaker Puan Maharani (2.0 percent), former TNI Commander Gatot Nurmantyo (1.4 percent), and Interior Minister Tito Karnavian (1.3 percent ).

In addition there were also SOE Minister Erick Thohir (1.0 percent), Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Mahfud MD 0.8 percent, Golkar Party Chairperson Airlangga Hartarto (0.3 percent), BIN Chief Budi Gunawan (0.2 percent), and Chair General PKB Muhaimin Iskandar 0.2 percent.

Burhan said that he compared the electability of the figures before and after the pandemic. A number of names have declined, such as Prabowo, Khofifah, and Erick. While other names tend to go up.

The survey was conducted Political Indicators on July 13-16, 2020. The survey was conducted with 1,200 respondents by telephone.

Error tolerance is approximately 2.9 percent with a confidence level of 95 percent.
