Elden Ring Now Called “Franchise” • Jagat Play

No one can predict, that at some point in 2022, a release of the Soulsbourne game which has been a scourge for many gamers, will now turn into a super popular product on the market. We are talking about a new title that has sold 12 million copies in just 3 weeks, while its predecessor product, such as Dark Souls 3, has only been able to reach the same number for 4 years of its existence. The combination of so many elements that manage to blend almost perfectly is the reason for the appeal of this game. As predicted, this is not the end.

Together with the announcement of the sale of 12 million copies that they released via a press release, Hidetaka Miyazaki – the big boss of From Software, Hidetaka Miyazaki, immediately confirmed the future of this one game. Instead of just one game, it is now officially referred to as a “franchise”. Miyazaki himself expressed interest in pushing the Elden Ring name beyond the video game itself, without sharing further details.

Does this mean we will get the Elden Ring in other forms such as films or novels? Or maybe a spin-off video game series that doesn’t have a Soulsbourne flavor in it? We’ll just have to wait for From Software’s next move.
