The team will not enter the spring round of the second group III ligi. Financial problems made the club insolvent. It was not possible to find a strategic sponsor. The management even organized a campaign called “Let’s save Elana!”, The purpose of which was to raise funds, but it was not enough. The players and coaches were given a free hand to look for new employers.
The club published a statement on social media in which it thanked the fans, players, employees and activists for their involvement in the action “Save Elana!”. As assured, the management board has taken all possible steps to improve the financial situation, including 46 local sponsors were obtained, but liquidity was not obtained. “Despite the enormous efforts of many people, we have not been able to find a person or company that would like to purchase an ownership package” — board representatives wrote in a statement.
Elana ended in 2021 in 12th place in the group of the second division of the third division. In its history, the club played the most in the 2nd league, and its greatest success is reaching the 1/16 finals Polish Cup in the 1990/1991 season.
