Researcher at the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space Science Center for Space Science (EIGHT) open voice about the phenomenon meteor giants fell in Norway and in Texas, USA.
According to researchers from the LAPAN Space Science Center, the Tiar Dani meteor falling to Earth is common, but its movement cannot be predicted with accuracy.
Tiar also explained that the meteor fall phenomenon in Norway and Texas in the near future had nothing to do with the mercury perihelion phenomenon to Earth.
In general, said Tiar, meteor sources come from the asteroid belt which lies between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.
“But this still needs to be analyzed again from the meteor’s trajectory to ascertain where it came from,” Tiar said CNNIndonesia.com, via text message, Monday (26/7) afternoon.
Asked about the relationship between the momentum of the meteors falling in Norway and Texas in the near future, Tiar explained that it could not be predicted, because the area of the sky that must be observed is very large, and the asteroid can move in any direction.
He further said that to find out the relationship between the two celestial phenomena and the meteor shower at the end of July, namely the Alpha Capricornid meteor shower phenomenon, he said it was necessary to first analyze the trajectories of the meteors.
Meanwhile, LAPAN Science and Space Researcher Abdul Rachman said the meteor fall in Texas and in Norway is a normal natural phenomenon that occurs in the universe.
“The phenomenon that occurs is a natural phenomenon that normally occurs but with a chance of occurrence [dampak ke Bumi] the small ones, “said Abdul.
He further explained that every day there are hundreds of tons of natural space objects that enter Earth’s atmosphere. The space objects that fell in Norway and Texas, explained Abdul, were asteroids and comets that circulated around the Sun.
Previously, a giant meteor was reported to have crashed into Earth and burned in the skies of Norway, producing a bright light in the dark night south of the city, Sunday (25/7).
The impact of the asteroid’s entry to Earth caused the roar of a spectacular glow of light as it crossed the sky. Experts predict that the rest of the meteor will fall to Earth.
Moments after the meteor passed in the sky of Norway, a meteor or fireball was reported to have flown and appeared to fall in the sky of Texas, USA. The sighting was recorded from a local resident’s car.
The United States Institute of Aeronautics and Space, NASA believes that the meteor entered Earth’s atmosphere somewhere between Dallas and Houston.
An eye witness said that the phenomenon occurred on Sunday (27/7) night, around 21.00 local time. A number of explosions were also reported to have been heard by communities in Texoma and northeastern Texas. It is suspected that the explosion was caused by an object falling from outer space.
