A PSP agent from Braga, 45, is being investigated for domestic violence over his ex-wife and oldest son, now 12, advance The Morning Mail (CM). The attacks are said to have taken place mainly at the couple’s home in Barcelos.
According to the CM, the first complaint was made in late 2019, after the PSP agent allegedly beat the woman in front of the two children. At the same time, the eldest son, then 11, was allegedly beaten with a leather belt for trying to prevent the mother from being beaten. The couple’s youngest daughter, 7, watched it all.
The couple divorced this year, but the violence will not have stopped. The policeman even went so far as to lure the woman to a deserted place to talk, and he ended up assaulting her. According to the complaint, on another occasion, when the divorce process was already underway, the PSP, who was prevented from visiting his children without surveillance, appeared at the family home dressed in hunting clothes. He demanded to see the children, who were in a panic.
At least three complaints have been formalized, which are being investigated by the Barcelos Public Ministry.
Still according to the CM, the boy was heard for future memory and reported the various episodes of violence he witnessed to the judge holding the case.
Despite the fact that a disciplinary process is underway, opened by the General Inspection of Internal Administration, the PSP agent in Braga continues to serve, providing only administrative service.
The Barcelos Commission for the Protection of Children and Youth has an investigation underway in the same process. Minors were heard and confirmed the violence.
The man, hunter, as part of the process, handed over all registered hunting weapons.
