This comes in light of the global drop in the price of an ounce, by about $ 20, in today’s trading.

In a statement by Al-Masry Al-Youm, Zark said that the movement of markets in Egypt suffers from a complete cessation due to the negative impact of the Corona virus, which led to the cancellation of weddings and celebrations during the Eid Al-Fitr season, which led to a stagnation in the buying and selling process, at the present time. In view of the deteriorating economic situation, as well as the application of the ban hours in the evening contributed to the further stagnation of the gold market, which usually begins its activity in the evening.
A member of the Gold Division explained that gold prices in Egypt are affected by the price of an ounce globally and the price of the dollar, and they cannot be interfered with by traders, who calculate the price by multiplying the international price by the price of the dollar, and through this the prices are determined.
And the price of gold has witnessed a rise yesterday, as the price of a gram of 24 carat gold in the Egyptian goldsmiths was 871 pounds, while “21 caliber”, 762 pounds, while “18 carat”, 653 pounds, and 14 karat scored 507 pounds, while the price of Gold pounds 6100 pounds.
