After the success in the previous year, the young musicians repeat the action. “We want to help people in need and are happy to do what we enjoy most: with music. We want to pass this joy on, albeit digitally, and bring some hope into homes in the ongoing Corona crisis, and at the same time Collect for a good cause, “explains Quirin Birzer.

The joy of the Blechhilfswerk, which has been in existence since 2019, a brass band made up of six young brass players and one female brass player, can be clearly seen in the ten-minute concert. Musically they set themselves apart from last year’s concert, as Quirin Birzer – he is also the arranger of the pieces and the tubist of the group – reports. “While last year the focus was on ‘classic’ Christmas carols like ‘Silent Night’ or ‘Daughter Zion’, this time we have named somewhat more modern pieces such as the ‘Christmas Song’ or a potpourri of ‘Little Bell’ to ‘Jingle Bells’ ‘The cowbells of St. Enzian’ are part of the repertoire. ” These cleverly selected pieces are played by Clemens Heiß, Jonas Meilinger, Maximus Mack (trumpets), Valentin Schuld, Tilman Taubald and Theresa Gößl (trombones) and Quirin Birzer (tuba) full of feeling and thus offer an extraordinary listening pleasure. Even the quieter tones are not neglected in the varied digital concert. With Birzer’s own composition “Reminiscence”, the ensemble commemorates people who have died. With their video, the group, which was active in numerous beer gardens, the Eichstätter “mittendrin” and at the “Oaktown Brass Festival”, is calling for donations again this year. “This year we selected the SOS Children’s Villages worldwide organization,” said Quirin Birzer.

For more information, listeners can find the description below the video. The long-time friend of the musicians, Levin Thurnhofer, took care of the professional recording of video and sound in the House of Church Music. Those interested can access the Christmas listening pleasure at any time on the Blechhilfswerk website (https://www.blechhilfswerk.de) or via the social media channels.EK
