EEC registrations mention AMD A520 motherboards from ASRock – Computer – News

Motherboard manufacturer ASRock has registered some AMD A520 motherboards with the Eurasian Economic Commission. In the listing there are also some unannounced B550 motherboards. Motherboards with the A520 chipset are expected in the third quarter of 2020.

Judging from the said skus, the ASRock motherboards seem to mainly have micro-atx and mini-itx formats, according to two separate registrations which were noticed by TechPowerUp and Tom’s Hardware. It appears to involve a total of twelve different revisions of six separate motherboard models. The registration also mentions some unannounced B550 motherboards from the manufacturer: the B550M Dash and B550M Dash R2.0. Further specifications of the motherboards are still unknown.

Rumors say A520 chipset lacks some features over B550 and X570, previous leaked information from HKEPC. For example, according to rumors, users cannot overclock their CPU with A520 motherboards, as with the current A320 chipset. A520 also has fewer PCI e-lanes than the higher positioned chipsets. Support for PCI-E 4.0 for GPUs and SSDs is also missing. The first A520 motherboards are expected in the third quarter of 2020. This chipset should replace the current A320 motherboards.
