According to the first president, The tenures were distributed to 191 teachers, among them from the Montessori program, special education and social work, as well as other subjects that are difficult to recruit.. They also granted permanence to 620 school canteen officials.
He argued that this determination was endorsed by the Office of Management and Budget (OGP) and the Fiscal Oversight Board (JSF).
“As part of the efforts for August, and as we continue to develop alternatives for the start of the school year, We announce these stays that will strengthen the Education staff and offer stability to those employees who have been working in the agency for a long time as temporary staff. In addition, it is a measure of justice that also prepares the agency for the next semester with those resources necessary to offer services to our students, ”stated Vázquez Garced in a press release.
For his part, the Secretary of Education, Eligio Hernández, highlighted the work carried out by the employees.
“Despite not having job security, these employees offered their services for a long time and demonstrated their commitment to Puerto Rican public education. These stays are in recognition of that work, “he said.
Hernández indicated that with these stays the agency guarantees that in August all employees are located in the corresponding schools.
