The Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands finalizes this week the anticovid protocols for the next academic year, although everything seems to indicate that many of the current measures will be maintained. The pandemic has forced to inflate, so far, more than 147 million euros in extra expenses to the educational system of the islands.
Among the decisions that could be kept are the bubble groups o go 800 teachers added in elementary school. Education considers that the past year has been a success in the Canary Islands, despite the difficulties. It is one of the few communities where presence was assumed in September one hundred percent, and where the spread of infections has remained between 0.1 to 0.4.
Reduction of ratios and elimination of barracks
In addition, the Executive undertakes to continue working on the removal of barracks after the suppression of thirty in the last two years, when it has gone from 80 to 64.
Education also plans to undertake ratios drops and satisfactorily assesses the implementation of the Canarian online education center, which has covered 139 minors affected by the pandemic or other diseases.
