“Edmonton Oilers Dominate Los Angeles Kings in 5-2 Win: Nick Bjugstad Scores Twice”

Promoted to the second line alongside Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Nick Bjugstad scored twice in the win.

Both teams will now have three days off before Game 6 is played on Saturday in Los Angeles.

It was the second wave of the power play that scored the first goal of the game. Evander Kane completed a play by Darnell Nurse and Mattias Ekholm to give the Oilers the lead with just 4 seconds left on the Kings’ Carl Grundstrom penalty.

Three goals were then scored in the space of three minutes and 32 seconds. First Leon Draisaitl scored his sixth goal of the playoffs, then Alex Iafallo cut Edmonton’s lead with the Kings’ first goal.

Brett Kulak replied with his first playoff goal to restore the Oilers to a two-goal lead, but with 2:25 left in the first period, Adrian Kempe beat Stuart Skinner with a precise wrist shot.

Five goals were scored in the first period, the Oilers had a 3-2 lead.

Edmonton added two goals to its lead in the second period.

Nick Bjugstad, who was given the task of piloting the team’s second line alongside Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, deflected a shot from Cody Ceci, sending goaltender Joonas Korpisalo out of the game.

The Oilers then took advantage of a power play to score another goal. Evan Bouchard’s hard shot hit Zach Hyman in the face, before finding its way past Phoenix Copley.

Nick Bjugstad scored his second of the game early in the third period to give the hosts a comfortable four-goal lead.

Quinton Byfield tried to revive the Kings by beating Stuart Skinner, but it was already too late for the visitors.
