The presidential election promises to be difficult for Donald Trump. The tenant of the White House is therefore desperately looking for success and quickly, in particular in foreign policy which gives the indispensable prestige to those who wish to keep in hand the reins of the world, at least to give the illusion of it. It is against this yardstick that we must read what should be called the American fierceness towards Iran. More than two years after denouncing the nuclear deal concluded between the great powers and this country, but without having succeeded in renegotiating another that he is calling for, Trump is trying his hand at the UN. The attempts – so far unsuccessful – to restore and extend international, UN sanctions against the Islamic Republic (after having reinstated and hardened those of the United States) are a perfect illustration of this. But not the only ones.
