The renowned Taiwanese publishing house Showwe Information Co. Ltd. (秀威資訊科技公司) has just published in Mandarin the book La Dulce Aniquirona by Colombian teacher, poet and narrator Winston Morales Chavarro.
The translation of the book was undertaken by prominent Taiwanese poet Kuei-shien Lee, who until recently was the organizer of the Taiwan International Poetry Festival in Taiwan and has been nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
The Colombian writer’s book La Dulce Aniquirona has been translated into German, French, English, Polish and Italian. The Polish translation was by academic Barbara Stawicka Pirecka and was published by Polish publisher Anagram, while the Italian translation was run by Italian-Argentine writer Juan Carlos Pomponio and will be published by the renowned Italian publisher Tabula Fátima. La Dulce Aniquirona was first published in in Bogotá in 1998 by poet and publisher Guillermo Martínez González, owner of Trilce publishers.
La Dulce Aniquirona, Mandarin edition will be presented in the development of the International Poetry Festival of Formosa, Taiwan, to be held in September in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan.
Winston Morales Chavarro has been a full-time professor at the University of Cartagena for 16 years and has represented the country in national and international literature meetings.

The translator
Lee Kuei-shien
Born in 1937. Began his poetic career in 1953. In 1976 he became a member of the International Academy of Poets in England. He founded Taiwan PEN in 1987, of which he was elected vice-president and later president. Likewise, he had an important role in the National Foundation for Culture and Art in which he served as President between 2005 and 2007. Currently, he is the vice president of the World Poets Movement, for the Asia section (PPdM).
His poems have been translated and published in Brazil, Bangladesh, Canada, Chile, Cuba, Spain, Greece, India, Japan, Korea, Macedonia, Mongolia, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Romania, Russia, USA, and Yugoslavia.
His published work includes “Poemas compilados” in six volumes (2001), “Ensayos compilados” in ten volumes (2002), “Poemas traducidos” in eight volumes (2003), “Antología de poesía europea” in 25 volumes, (2001- 2005), “Selecta Poetry Series” in 25 volumes (2010~2016), among other publications.
Her poems translated into English include “Love Is My Faith” (1997), “The Beauty of Tenderness” (2001), “Entre Islas” (2005), and “The Hour of Twilight” (2010).
He was awarded the Asian Poet-Merit Award, Korea (1993), Taiwan Rong-hou Prize for Poetry (1997), World Poet of the Year Award 1997, International Poets Award, India (1998), Millennium Poet Award , from the Academy of International Poets, India (2000), the Lai Ho Award for Literature and the Minister of Culture Award, both in Taiwan (2001). In addition, he received the Michael Madhusudan Prize for Poetry from the Michael Madhusudan Academy, India (2002), the Wu San-lien Prize for Literature (2004), the Poet’s Medal from the Mongolian Culture Foundation (2005), the Gold Medal Chinggis Khaan at the Mongolian State 800th Anniversary Celebration (2006), the Oxford Prize for Taiwanese Writers (2011), the Korea Prize for Literature, Korea (2013), the Kathak Prize for Literature, Bangladesh (2016), and the Naim Frashëri Literary Prize, Macedonia (2016).
He has been nominated three times as a candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature, by the Academy of International Poets and the Poetry Group in 2001, 2003 and 2006, respectively.
