Edition Thionville – Hayange | Old and new elected officials mobilize

Solidarity works at full capacity in Russange. We thought of the ancients before focusing our efforts on the general population.

On March 15, the team of Jean-Jacques Bourson, the only candidate list in the municipal elections, was elected to Russange. Since then, the one who will undoubtedly be elected mayor of the locality by his council cheers on his brakes and lets Gilbert Kaiser, former mayor, reluctantly continue his mandate until still an uncertain date. In this panic created by the health crisis, old and new elected officials are mobilizing to help the most vulnerable. Jean-Jacques Bourson’s running mate went to meet these people to offer their help for the races or to go to the pharmacy. This is how a large chain of solidarity has been established in Russange since the confinement. However, it is out of the question to go and get cigarettes in Luxembourg as requested by one person.

Masks

Since Monday morning, 3,000 surgical masks have been delivered to Russange through the CCPHVA. The city is responsible for ordering 12,000 other masks, some of which are washable, through the Association of Mayors of France. 25% of this order will be delivered at the end of the containment and the remaining 75% in mid-June. In the meantime, we must already prepare the distribution of the first masks, so the elected officials have set to work to put these in an envelope. They will be distributed by two, four or more, depending on the size of the family.
