Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa canceled the decision to supply Russian equipment to the United States. This was announced by the Russian Ambassador to Ecuador Vladimir Sprinchan following a meeting with the leader of the country.
“On Friday [16 февраля] A meeting took place with the President of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa. We discussed in detail the current bilateral relations with an emphasis on some complications that have arisen between the countries in recent days,” RIA Novosti reports Sprinchan’s words. He clarified that when asked whether the country would cancel the decision to transfer Russian equipment to the United States, the president answered “yes.”
According to him, Ecuador will not send weapons and ammunition to hot zones, but will promote the settlement of conflicts through negotiations. The diplomat stressed that an official statement on the cancellation of the decision will become known only next week.
Previously, Noboa stated that the transfer of old Russian equipment would take place, despite Russia’s disagreement, reports MK. Military expert Boris Dzherelievsky told URA.RU that Ecuador could be left without the promised American technology in exchange for the transfer of Soviet weapons.
