Health experts have urged the National Health Service in Britain, the NHS, to add what is known as “Covid tongue” to its official list of symptoms Corona Virus Confirmed.
Where experts fear that doctors fail to diagnose 1 in 5 cases of coronavirus because the tongue mark is not officially recognized.
Professor “Tim Spector”, founder of the ZOE Covid Symptom Study, warned that it is facing an increase in the number of people suffering from side effects, including “the tongue of Covid”.
The Covid tongue is characterized by signs indicating infection with the emerging virus, including: a swollen tongue, small red or white bumps and unusual sores in the mouth.
Professor Spector, an epidemiologist at Kings College London (KCL), said on Twitter: “One in five people with Corona develops less common and not officially known symptoms, such as a rash.
And he adds: “Seeing an increasing number of corona’s tongues and strange mouth ulcers, means that up to 20% of infected cases can be missing and continue to spread the deadly disease unconsciously.”
Today’s tweet calls on people to continue sending pictures of their “tongues”, when the rash in the mouth coincides with fever and fatigue.
