easyJet made the decision toimmobilize the majority of its fleet from Tuesday March 24, 2020 following travel restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic.
” In order to bring our customers home, we will continue to provide repatriation flights, the vast majority of which should end by Monday March 23. We ask our customers currently abroad to book as soon as possible and before next Monday, a seat on a repatriation flight“, Specifies the British low cost. This program of repatriation flights will correspond to a maximum of 10% of usual capacity easyJet at this time of year. It mainly concerns connections from, to and within the United Kingdom. Beyond March 24, 2020, it will be reviewed weekly and adapted to demand.
” Due to recent guidelines, we know that many customers who already have reservations do not intend to travel; so we encourage them to change their tickets for free now, to allow us to better match our operations with existing needs. In this context, easyJet does not apply change fees for customers who wish to postpone their flight to a later date; they can now modify their trips until February 28, 2021. Customers whose flight is canceled will be contacted directly by easyJet and will be informed of their options“, Says easyJet.

We know how important it is for customers to get home; we therefore continue to make repatriation flights as long as the rules of each country allow it. Significantly reducing our flight schedule is the best decision we can make when many countries have advised their citizens not to travel.
