Easter-moves 1075 vaccine appointments

The vaccination in Bærum municipality will be stopped completely from Wednesday 31 March to Tuesday 6 April, writes Budstikka.

Vaccine coordinator in the municipality, Tone Vågårøy, confirms to Dagbladet that 1075 vaccine agreements have been postponed as a result of Easter.

– When dose one was set, there was a very strict regimen of 28 days from the first to the second dose. Then there were changes in the vaccine regimen of FHI, which opened for a longer time between dose one and two.

She says that they knew some were not happy with having to line up for dose two at Easter.

– There has been no progress of complaints and feedback. We knew that some had been dissatisfied when they received a dose. Now we had the opportunity to make some changes. We moved everyone who was to have dose two on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, to the following Tuesday and Wednesday in week 14.

– Win-win

Ahead of Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, they will have longer days and increased capacity at the vaccine center.

– It is clear that Easter is the holiest days we have during the year. We also have many who work at the vaccine center who had needed a little more than one weekend off, says Vågårøy.

No one has called after dose one and asked to move their class, she states.

– We made a decision, as we had the opportunity to make changes we knew some would be happy with. Then there are those who have arranged for vaccination in those days, who had to change their plans. Mostly it was a win-win for everyone.

The relocation of the classes has no effect on the progress of the vaccination in the municipality, she emphasizes.

– Then we would not have done it.

Everyone else said no

In Nordre Aker, several have said no to vaccine to go on a cabin trip at Easter. Every other person who has been offered an appointment at the vaccine center in the Oslo district during the Easter week, declined the appointment because they would rather go on an Easter holiday, assistant project manager Benedicte Varvik informed NRK.

Chief physician Preben Aavitsland in FHI signed on Twitter that he “to put it mildly” was not gentle.

To Dagbladet, he elaborated:

– I think it’s silly that people “should not have time”. Hello, this is very important. People have been waiting a long time. Then it can not be the case that it does not fit because you are going on a ski trip.
