Governor East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa tested positive Covid-19 after undergoing a PCR swab test on Thursday (24/6). This is the second time Khofifah has been infected with the corona virus.
“Last night he swab, the result just came out this morning [positif Covid-19],” said Head of the East Java BPSDM Aries Agung Paewai, when confirmed by the media crew, Friday (25/6).
Even so, said Aries, Khofifah’s condition is said to be not experiencing any symptoms so that her status is declared as an asymptomatic person (OTG).
“Yes, in the position of OTG status,” he said.
Aries said that Khofifah is currently in Tuban, East Java. He should have been present at the Tuban Regent’s certificate, Aditya Halindra Faridzky and Deputy Regent Riyadi, at the Tuban Regency DPRD this morning.
As a result, Khofifah only delivered her speech via video conference from a hotel room.
“He should have attended in person for the regent’s certificate, in the end it was done virtually,” he said.
Now, the ranks of the East Java Provincial Government and the medical team are preparing for Khofifah’s departure to return to Surabaya.
“He is still in Tuban at this time, the plan is to prepare to return to Surabaya,” concluded Aries.
Previously, Khofifah had been confirmed positive for Covid-19 in early January, on January 2. He was later declared cured after undergoing 29 days of isolation, on Friday (29/1).
