After the 0: 1 deficit, DEG was on the verge of equalizing in the second third. Instead, the penguins managed to score their second hit with a counterattack. Maxi Kammerer’s connecting gate came too late. When the Düsseldorfer risked everything and took goalkeeper Hane out for another field player, Krefeld made everything clear with a shot in the empty DEG goal. It was Krefeld’s first home win of the season. The Düsseldorfers, who will meet Bremerhaven in the Dome tomorrow (March 9), would not qualify for the playoffs as the current fifth in the table in the northern group.
