The head of the company Heinz-Richard Heinemann (74) grew up in the bakery of the patisserie that his parents Hermann and Hanni ran in Mönchengladbach on Bismarckstraße. The recipe for success that is still used today also came from his father: “He uses only the best ingredients: the freshest butter, the first cream and the finest cocoa beans. Just no preservatives, otherwise there will be trouble! ” The parents also conveyed the feeling for manual work: “Since there is no machine that has 10 fingers and a feeling, everything that requires dedication is done by hand. So each piece is unique “.

90 years of Heimann sweets

Herrentorte has been a popular product since the beginning of pastry. Champagne truffles, Baumkuchen, butter and almond speculaa, cinnamon stars and a wide variety of cakes are just a few examples of the assortment of desserts. In addition to Mönchengladbach and Düsseldorf, there are shops or cafes in Krefeld, Duisburg, Neuss and Munich. Some products also have a local flavor: the rich praline cakes are called “Knööp” in Mönchengladbach, “Knöngels” in Krefeld and “Schneider Wibbel Garn” in Düsseldorf.

Heinemann is always attentive to the seasonal availability of products: “Waiting makes life richer. That’s why our Christmas delicacies are not available as early as autumn, and strawberries and plumcakes only when the fruit has ripened for them in the meadows and in the local fields “, emphasizes the head pastry chef.

For the anniversary, the chocolate mouse was created and produced as a soft toy

Bright grass green has become the patisserie’s trademark and adorns delivery vehicles, bags and candy boxes. Heinemann’s offspring contributed an anniversary idea. Heinz-Richard Heinemann’s children follow in their creative footsteps and that’s how the Schokomaus was born. Anyone who thinks rodents and the bakery aren’t together will soon be taught the opposite when he sees the cute stuffed animal in the pastry jacket. The soft toy is now available in all Heinemann patisseries at a price of EUR 16.90. More information about the locations and the pastry assortment can be found here.
