SITUBONDO, FaktualNews.co – In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of patients with Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in Situbondo Regency continues to increase.

Starting from January to mid-November 2021, the number of patients with diseases caused by the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito in Situbondo reached 465 people.

From a total of 465 people, most of those infected with DHF are children. Four people with dengue fever of whom died.

Head of Communicable Disease Prevention and Control at the Situbondo District Health Office, Heryawan, said that until November 2021, the number of dengue fever sufferers reached 465 people, spread over 17 sub-districts in Situbondo Regency.

“Four DHF sufferers of them died,” said Heryawan, Wednesday (11/24/2021).

According to him, to anticipate the outbreak of dengue fever in the rainy season this year, his party carried out 3 M socialization, and gave abatements to Situbondo residents.

“In addition, we are going through all the Puskesmas in Situbondo and are now continuing to promote the Situbondo Free Larva Movement (Gesit Batik), we will also carry out fogging to a number of locations where the dengue disease is spreading,” he explained.

Heryawan further added that because most of those infected with DHF were children, his party appealed to all schools in Situbondo not to use a permanent bath, but instead to use a plastic bath.

“To anticipate the development of larvae in the bathtub, we urge all schools in Situbondo not to use permanent bathtubs in their schools,” he concluded.
