Kyocera will release the highly durable smartphone “DuraForce EX” after late January 2024. It will be sold as a SIM-free model for the open market. It is assumed that the main target is corporations, but individuals can also purchase it.

“DuraForce EX” is a highly durable terminal that complies with 21 items of MIL standards. “Dragontrail STAR2” is adopted for the approximately 5.8-inch display to enhance durability.
It has a “warm swap” that allows you to replace the battery without turning off the power, a barcode reading function, and two dedicated direct buttons.
The size is about 163 x 77 x 14.8mm and the weight is about 248g. “Dimensity 700” is adopted as the chipset. Memory is 4GB, storage is 64GB.
Kyocera has developed “TORQUE” as a highly durable terminal. Regarding the “DuraForce EX” this time, the company explained, “We will sell it through sales channels that have never existed before.” In terms of hardware, there is no difference between the SIM-free version and the carrier version. In addition, there are no plans to sell on Rakuten Mobile.
