Four teenagers indicted Wednesday, February 12 for attempted murder, suspected of having beaten up in early February on the sidelines of a carnival in Dunkirk, a 27-year-old man, in a condition deemed very serious since, according to a judicial source.

The four accused, born between 2000 and 2004, were placed in pre-trial detention, including three in penal establishments for minors, reported the public prosecutor of Dunkirk, Sébastien Piève. Arrested Monday, they denied their involvement in police custody.

They were also charged with aggravated willful violence against the other members of the carnival group. The victim, a young 27-year-old volunteer firefighter who was not on duty, is still in very serious condition, the source said.

The reason for the attack, which allegedly took place very quickly, is not known at this time. The thesis of a gratuitous aggression is not excluded.

Two other young members of the group, born in 2000 and 2004, were placed under the intermediate status of assisted witness.
