On Wednesday afternoon, the 20 students of Gisèle Sagnol’s CM1 and CM2 class from Saint-Joseph de Dunières school received information on blood donation.
Gérard Ravel, a volunteer from the Haute-Loire Departmental Union of Blood Donors, was accompanied by three people from the Dunières team. Schoolchildren learned about the role of blood, its composition, the different groups O, A, B, AB and the Rhesus. But also the use of this precious liquid in medical treatments, surgeries, research, medicines.
They were made aware of the role of volunteers in the municipalities: information, activities and organization of blood drives at the Sacré-Coeur college, building adjacent to their new school. They will participate in the federal drawing competition. The other children of the commune of the same school level will also be visited by blood donors.
