Funcom is a Norwegian game studio that was founded in 1993 (it was bought by the Chinese Tencent in 2020). His titles include Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, Age of Conan, The Secret World and Conan Exiles. The game Dune: Awakening will thus apply especially the rich experience with game mechanics from the field of MMOs.

He was chosen to create the game world on Arrakis Unreal Engine 5 (see our earlier article), while developers have now mentioned in particular the benefits of Lumen and Nanite technologies, thanks to which they can create locations that look amazing and at the same time are not as demanding on performance as it would be at the same level of detail using earlier developer tools and procedures.
