Trigema boss Wolfgang Grupp wants only one of his two children to inherit the company, as reported by the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung”.
Both the 32-year-old Bonita and the 30-year-old Wolfgang jr. Grupp already work for the company and one day they want to inherit their father.
However, the decision about this could fall back on Elisabeth Grupp in her mid-fifties, her husband’s sole heir.

It is not uncommon for families to quarrel about the inheritance – especially when the inheritance includes a multi-billion dollar company. Nevertheless, Trigema boss Wolfgang Grupp has decided that only one of his two children will inherit him. It is not yet clear who it will be, as reported by the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung”.
The 79-year-old patriarch has a clear vision of corporate governance. Despite the trend towards production in low-wage countries, he continues to have his products only manufactured in Germany. According to him, only one person should be responsible for a company. Especially with regard to inheritance, according to Grupp, it is important that only one person takes over the helm, otherwise there are “many shareholders in the second or third generation”.
Anyone who does not become the owner should continue to work in the company
“You should only ever give the whole thing to one child,” says the entrepreneur. However, it has not yet been decided who will get the successful textile company, which has a turnover of around 100 million euros. Both the 32-year-old Bonita Grupp and the 30-year-old Wolfgang jr. Grupp, who have completed the same training at elite boarding schools and at the London School of Economics, are already working for the company and want to inherit their father one day. Elisabeth and Wolfang Grupp trust both children in the Trigema bosses – they were practically raised for this task.
